Loan Payment Representative

: Loan Payment Representative Do you have experience in lending or billing? Do you demonstrate effective time management ? Would you like to take ownership of your own career development? We are looking for a Loan Payment Representative that ensures members' loan payment needs are addressed timely and accurately including ensuring additional or complex needs are routed to the proper team member or department following all GECU procedures. As a support function for the Consumer Lending team, this role ensures our system records including incoming mail are maintained, updated and accurate for all member loans and processes all applicable payment transactions, while building a working knowledge of all types of Credit Union loans including but not limited to Consumer, Indirect, Mortgage and Commercial Lending. The Loan Payment Representative will:

• Opens and distributes incoming mail appropriately
• Posts payments to loan accounts accurately and timely
• Manages most loan payment transactions within the department
• Researches members' accounts for processing payments accurately
• Assists and educates members via incoming/outgoing phone calls
• Utilizes strong member service skills by assisting and educating members via incoming/outgoing phone calls, email and instant message
• Takes payment and provides detail on payment solutions.
• Focuses on building an understanding all loan type functions to assist members successfully and service the loans accurately and timely, including understanding CPI and the CPI process
• Maintains a basic understanding of Paid Loans and Collateral Protection Insurance and be able to navigate the systems to effectively research member concerns.
• Understands payment methods (Online Banking, Mobile Deposit, ACH, etc.) along with principal and interest to post payments to loan accounts, requiring reading and understanding the transaction history; and answering member questions accurately; may require research and problem solving
• Consistently meets posting and accuracy goals; Must meet member service standard requirements according to metrics and goals established
• Ensures understanding of all legalities associated with the department processes and remains compliant in following all required procedures
• Understands and complies with all required federal and state regulations associated with the credit union and maintain confidentiality
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required education and experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of experience in lending, account manager, billing or for a Financial Institution

Required capabilities, and skills:

• Ability to work in a professional office environment
• Ability to work 1-2 Saturdays a month as scheduled
• Maintains a positive demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing demands
• Natural problem solver, with excellent organizational and analytical skills

Physical requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
