St. Thomas More Catholic School is seeking a passionate, faith-filled Part-Time Vocal Music Teacher who is excited to nurture students’ musical talents while supporting our mission of guiding students to be disciples of Jesus by focusing on spiritual and academic growth. Position Overview: The Music Teacher will provide engaging, developmentally appropriate music instruction for students in preschool (3-year olds) through grade 8. The ideal candidate will foster a love of music, develop foundational musical skills, and integrate Catholic values into instruction and performance opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver weekly music instruction aligned with state and diocesan standards
• Teach foundational music concepts, including rhythm, melody, vocal technique, and basic music literacy
• Prepare students for school liturgies, prayer services, and special events
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration
• Integrate Catholic identity and values into music instruction
• Maintain a positive, structured, and joyful classroom environment
• Direct 2 Christmas concerts (Early Childhood and Grades 1-5)

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, or related field
  • Valid teaching license
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Preferred
  • Practicing Catholic or willingness to support the mission of Catholic education
  • Experience teaching elementary-age children
  • Ability to lead liturgical music and/or school choir
