Custodian - Full-Time, Afternoon Shift
Hours: Full-Time (12-month) - 260 days, 2080 hours; Afternoon Shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm)
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience as a custodian preferred
- General knowledge regarding the cleaning, upkeep, and basic maintenance of school buildings, facilities and grounds
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- Physical ability to perform the required work; meets all mandated health requirements
- Ability to use/operate custodial equipment (i.e. brooms, mops, floor scrubbers, carpet extractors)
- Ability to physically manage bulky and/or unwieldy packages and supplies
- Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions
- Ability to read, understand, and comply with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and product and label information
- Ability to take initiative to perform tasks independently
- Ability to follow oral and written directions; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to function as a team member, work cooperatively with other staff members, and take instruction well
- Current valid driver’s license, no disqualifying citations
- Must be able to pass BCI/FBI background checks and drug screen
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Compensation: Per union negotiated salary schedule
