Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Stepdown position requiring at least 2 years of Peds Cardiac Stepdown experience and an active OH RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Stepdown unit within a children's hospital setting
• Patient population includes pediatric cardiac cases, both medical and surgical (e.g., cardiac defects, post-op CTICU, heart and lung transplants)
• Specialized procedures and equipment include trachs/vents, high-flow nasal cannula, post-op caths, and inotropes
• Day/Night rotating schedule in 6-week intervals, with shifts of 4x12 hours (Days: 7:00–19:30 / Nights: 19:00–7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to different units is a requirement and should be expected
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active OH RN license (or compact license accepted) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown experience required
• Two supervisor-level references (manager or supervisor title) required for consideration — charge nurse references are not accepted
• Candidates must not have worked permanently at this facility within the past 2 years
• Local candidates are not eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to pediatric cardiac patients including post-surgical and medically complex cases
• Travelers must be prepared to float to different units as needed throughout the assignment
• Attendance and punctuality are strictly enforced — no call/no shows are taken very seriously and may result in termination
• 13-week contract
