Ohio Nursing Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 – Ohio nursing jobs
• Facility: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), 11 Critical Care Tower
• Employment Type: Locum tenens, travel RN contract
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:1-2
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1940-$1990

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical ICU (MICU) experience
• Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio state RN license required)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Proficient in IV starts and telemetry
• Competency with ventilators
• Two professional references required (one from manager/director or formal leadership; one may be a Charge RN)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver and renal failure, and COVID-19
• Operate specialized equipment: NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV Pump, GE Cardiac Monitor, GE Ventilator, Boom Lift
• Perform and assist with procedures: IV starts, arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal, central line care, ventilator management
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, and manage continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Interpret ABGs, dysrhythmias, and EKGs
• Implement infection prevention and isolation protocols
• Float to other critical care units as needed
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services
