Our client a large U.S. financial institution headquartered at a major center in Cincinnati is seeking a Data Engineer.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $30.00 to $37.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• Design, construct, install, test, and maintain scalable data management systems.

• Clean and transform data to produce high-quality, production-ready datasets for model development.

• Engineer features and integrate new data sources to streamline modeling pipelines.

• Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes.

• Ensure data systems meet business requirements and align with industry practices.

• Integrate modern data management and software engineering technologies into existing architectures.

• Develop processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.

• Create custom software components and analytics applications.

• Research new uses for existing data to enhance insights and capabilities.

• Employ multiple languages and tools to connect systems and support interoperability.

• Collaborate with data architects, IT, and data scientists to achieve project goals.

• Install and update disaster recovery procedures.

• Recommend improvements to enhance data reliability and quality.

Experience Requirements:

• Proficiency in SQL with experience in data manipulation and transformation.

• Basic understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts.

• Experience cleaning and preparing datasets for analytics or machine learning.

• Experience with non-relational and relational databases such as SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, or MongoDB.

• Experience programming and/or architecting a back-end language such as Java or J2EE.

• Snowflake experience (preferred).

• dbt experience (preferred).

• Python experience (preferred).

• Understanding of data science workflows and practices (preferred).

Education Requirements:

• Technical degree or related work experience.
