Information Systems Specialist

TrueCore Federal Credit Union is a strong, secure financial institution, serving Licking County since 1940. We provide a full-range of banking services for over 16,000 members. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Licking, Fairfield, Knox, Muskingum or Perry County.

TrueCore is looking for an Information Systems Specialist to join our team who is energetic and motivated. Knowledgeable use of the Symitar/Episys system would be a plus. This employee will support TrueCore’s end-users with all facets of technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides primary support for the credit union's core data processing system, assists with network and PC/LAN servers which includes planning, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting network and system hardware and software. Create, maintains and modifies programs as directed.
• Provides on-going support to all Credit Union staff in the use of end user hardware and software products. Notifies users of new useful features available through product updates.
• Participates in short- and long-range planning for the department to select and utilize appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the company and its members.
• Assists with the maintenance of hardware and software at the company's disaster recovery site and provides technical support for disaster recovery testing.
• Assists with significant special projects as required.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:

• To ensure prompt response to and recovery from systems and network related production interruptions, across multiple hardware platforms, networks and operating systems. Essential hardware must be put back into service at the earliest possible time.
• To anticipate system and network security/integrity risks and assure adequate safeguards.
• To keep credit union licensed PC software current; testing and updating software as new versions are released.
• To accomplish all assigned projects in an effective and professional manner, keeping management informed of all problematic areas.
• To develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, pricing and processes by monitoring trends in operations. To make improvements in the process within the department to maximize efficiencies.
• To provide informed, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
• Expand skill set by learning new languages, techniques, and systems and share this knowledge and experience with other members of the IS team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• General and business knowledge equivalent to an associate degree.
• 2-4 years of professional experience in providing IT support.
• Previous data processing experience including networks, PCs, data communications, mainframe and PC programming and data organization.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with peers, and managers and personnel outside of the department.
• Appropriate knowledge of network operating environments and security methodologies for level of position.
• Technical planning and project management.
• Ability to discuss technical issues effectively with other data processing professionals as well as non‐technical users.
