Key Responsibilities

As a Mill Machine Operator, your role will involve critical tasks to ensure efficient milling and asphalt preparation, including:

Mill Machine & Skid-Steer Operation:

• Operate asphalt milling machines to remove old pavement and prepare surfaces for repaving.
• Utilize skid-steers to assist in material removal, site grading, and asphalt preparation.
• Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and accuracy.
• Monitor equipment performance and make real-time adjustments as needed.

Site Preparation & Support:

• Assist with setting up and maintaining a clean and safe work zone.
• Ensure proper traffic control measures are in place for milling operations.
• Work closely with the milling and paving crews to ensure seamless project execution.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.
• Conduct basic maintenance and cleaning to ensure machines are in optimal condition.
• Report mechanical issues promptly and coordinate necessary repairs.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Remain vigilant to potential hazards and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper safety procedures are followed on-site.

Qualifications and Skills Experience:

• Experience operating asphalt milling machines.
• Previous experience in asphalt paving or construction is highly preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of milling operations and skid-steer functionality.
• Ability to interpret project plans and milling depths accurately.
• Excellent coordination and teamwork skills.

License Preferences:

• A Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is highly preferred but not required.
• Candidates with a CDL may have additional opportunities for equipment transportation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat.
