Job title: Cost Accountant

Location: On-site in Canton, OH

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Salary: $100,000 – $110,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities (Cost Accountant):

• Analyze manufacturing and operational costs to determine product pricing and profitability.

• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, procedures, and controls.

• Prepare cost reports, variance analysis, and margin analysis to support management decisions.

• Monitor inventory costs and perform periodic inventory audits and reconciliations.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies related to cost accounting.

• Work closely with operations, procurement, and production teams to understand cost drivers.

• Analyze standard costs and recommend updates based on current conditions.

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries related to cost accounting.

• Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

Qualifications (Cost Accountant):

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial analysis, and inventory valuation.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with ERP systems and cost modeling tools.

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or other cost-efficiency methodologies.

• Ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
