The Critical Care Units provide comprehensive critical medical support to diverse populations. As an RN serving these patients, you will ensure they feel comfortable and safe throughout treatment. You will be accountable for delivery of cost effective, quality patient care, utilizing case management principles, the nursing process, and knowledge from various health care disciplines. Because this is a float position, you will also be used to cover medical-surgical units, as needed. For a full list of benefits, click here ( . + Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. **A caregiver in this position works shifts Sunday-Thursday from 7:00PM - 7:30AM.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately. + Develop and update goals and involve patients and families in developing plans of care. + Coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate. + Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication and document. + Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process. + Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit. + Review and document progress and discharge goals with patients and families. + Participate in and document patient care, discharge planning and case management conferences. + Communicate information regarding patient plan of care, current outcomes and acuity at shift report. + Incorporate the use of Informatic tools, principles, theories and practices in the safe and effective delivery of care. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program) + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire + One year of current ICU or acute care RN experience in a hospital setting + TCAR certification within 24 months of hire Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) + Critical care background **Physical Requirements:** + Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. + Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. + Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. + Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. + Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. + Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required **Pay Range** Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
