Legal assistant / collections assistant

About the Position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant / Collections Assistant to join our team in our Recovery Department. This role provides critical administrative and legal support to our collectors and attorneys. The ideal candidate will be reliable, organized, and eager to contribute to the success of the team in a fast-paced professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare, file, and manage motions and pleadings for court, including electronic filing.

· Assist with garnishments and review court dockets.

· Answer phones, transfer calls, and respond to simple defendant inquiries.

· Basic administrative duties such as retrieving and passing out mail, faxes, copying and scanning documents.

· Write receipts and process in-office cash payments.

· Provide administrative support to collectors as needed.

· Maintain accurate data entry and documentation.

· Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines and goals are met.

Qualifications:

· High School diploma or GED required.

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

· Minimum of 5 years of administrative experience.

· Prior legal or collections experience preferred.
