Senior Mobile Powertrain Field Technician
About DEUTZ
DEUTZ powers the world’s work. As a global leader in diesel, gas, and electric drivetrains, we design, build, and support engines for construction, agriculture, material handling, stationary equipment, commercial and rail vehicles, and more.
Role Snapshot
As a Senior Mobile Powertrain Field Technician, you are the face of DEUTZ in the field—diagnosing, installing, and repairing engines and equipment wherever our customers need you. You’ll perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on DEUTZ products and non-DEUTZ construction equipment operating within the DEUTZ Power Center network. You will partner closely with the Service Supervisor, Parts Department, customers, new engine sales, and engineering/warranty teams. This work requires sharp troubleshooting, flexibility, and a collaborative mindset. We’re looking for someone personable, reliable, ethical, and inquisitive—with a strong work ethic and pride in quality.
A Day in the Life
- Head out to customer sites to perform engine and equipment repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics.
- Plan the repair approach and sequence of work; pre-order all parts and materials necessary to execute the job.
- Use portable diagnostic tools and the DEUTZ Service Department ticket system as needed to validate repair accuracy and obtain approvals.
- Carry out repairs to manufacturer requirements, confirm functional integrity, and ensure a professional cosmetic finish.
- Conduct safe and effective inspections related to required repairs.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers about findings, next steps, and timelines; resolve issues promptly.
- Complete work orders and time sheets promptly and accurately.
- Maintain your vehicle’s parts inventory to support first-call completions and local parts sales; return unused components per DEUTZ Power Center guidelines.
- Work with teammates and supervisors to keep facilities and work areas clean, organized, and brand-positive.
- Follow all DEUTZ policies and procedures, including travel and company credit card use; uphold DOT requirements by cleaning and maintaining service trucks.
- Assist with proper filing of warranty claims and customer invoices; perform other duties as assigned.

Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 100% depending on business needs within the region.
