BWC’s core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC’s seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

What You'll Be Doing

Independently managing and supporting a wide range of technology domains, including hardware/software administration, network infrastructure, Windows server environments, and enterprise security systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, proactive problem-solving, and collaborative engagement across internal teams and external partners.

  • Installing, maintaining, configuring, upgrading &/or administer hardware &/or software, network administration, Windows server administration, business continuity, information security, & network connectivity, AD (Active Directory).
  • Using Qualys reporting to identify & patch security vulnerabilities with the use of SCCM/MECM & BigFix Patching.

To Qualify, You Must Clearly Demonstrate

Required Experience and/or Education:

  • 48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
  • Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
  • Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Knowledge of oral & written communication tools & techniques, customer support & personal service technical writing & documentation practices, state & Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) policy, procedures & applicable laws*, vision, mission & goals of BWC*, mathematic principles relative to assigned area in Information Technology (IT), telecommunications, capabilities & applications of network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, & related hardware, IT principles, methods and practices in assigned specialty area, software distribution tools and configuration management and mechanisms, organizations operation environment, topology, and protocols, local area and wide area networking principles and concepts, back-up and recovery techniques, performance monitoring methods, basic internet server maintenance techniques, installation and configuration procedures, internet clients, such as browsers and streaming video, system administration methods and procedures, operating systems installation and configuration procedures, technology design, Windows Server Operating System, Qualys, Group Policy Object (GPO), CrowdStrike, SCCM/MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager), BigFix Patching
