Summary

The Quality Assurance Project Specialist supports and maintains the supplier management program by creating, managing, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data, documentation, and tracking systems. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, analytical capability, and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers while ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and manage systems, documentation, and data to track and support the supplier management program.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Correspond with suppliers to address inquiries and ensure completion of required documentation, including quality agreements and compliance requirements.
  • Use sound judgment to escalate unusual product performance issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve concerns.
  • Participate in product improvement initiatives, strategic program development, risk assessments, and regulatory-focused analytical teams.
  • Interface with Research & Development, Quality Assurance, legal, Purchasing, and other functional areas to document, review, and resolve supplier performance issues.
  • Develop and maintain supplier exception rate reports for global review across U.S. and international manufacturing facilities.
  • Maintain the Global Approved Supplier List; identify discrepancies and communicate findings to manufacturing plants and management while recommending corrective actions.
  • Conduct label information reviews and collaborate with the labeling team to ensure accuracy of ingredient and allergen information.
  • Support management with event planning, meeting coordination, report preparation, correspondence, and tracking departmental projects and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with nutritional regulations, infant formula standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Complete additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, or a related technical field.
  • Five to seven (5–7) years of experience in customer support, business operations, or project planning preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards for infant formula and nutritional products.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Access, and Lotus.
