Job Title: Chemical Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer to collaborate with chemists, equipment engineers, and process technicians/operators in developing innovative technologies and sealant products. The role involves conducting hands-on research and development to study chemical/material processes under pressure and understanding the relationships between chemical structure/process, process/equipment, and process/material performance. The position supports production on the floor and customer service in the field, building chemical knowledge with an emphasis on organic/polymer materials, executing material process trials in the lab, and converting lab understandings/concepts into production processes in pilot/production settings. The role also involves documenting results, composing technical reports, processing standard procedures, and product specifications, and conducting instrumental analysis of products to determine chemical compositions and material properties.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with chemists, equipment engineers, and process technicians/operators to develop new technologies and sealant products.

• Conduct hands-on research and development on chemical/material processes for pressure.

• Understand relationships between chemical structure/process, process/equipment, and process/material performance.

• Support production on the floor and customer service in the field.

• Build chemical knowledge with an emphasis on organic/polymer materials.

• Execute material process trials in lab settings and convert lab understandings/concepts into production processes.

• Document results and communicate findings through technical reports, processing standard procedures, and product specifications.

• Follow procedures for chemical/material testing and conduct instrumental analysis of products.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Engineering, or related fields.

• 2 plus years of experience in organic/polymeric chemical and material handling in laboratory and pilot plant settings.

• Proficiency in product formulation, process evaluation, analytical measurement, and property testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong background in organic chemistry and polymers.

• Experience with custom equipment that utilizes impregnation technology.

Work Environment

The position offers a standard office/lab environment attached to the manufacturing facility. The work schedule includes a hybrid model with three days remote and two days onsite. The team is laid back and friendly, consisting of six other engineers. Some Fridays are off with the expectation that work is completed. The company is consistently growing, offering summer and fall Fridays off, and has seen a 30% growth each year.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
