Summary:

Adena Structural is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex structural and architectural steel fabrication projects from award through final closeout. This role provides oversight of project execution, serving as a key leader between estimating, detailing, fabrication, erection, and executive management. The Project Manager is accountable for schedule, cost, quality, safety, and client satisfaction while helping drive consistent processes and best practices across Adena Structural’s multi-state operations.

This position requires deep experience in structural steel fabrication, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage high-value, high-visibility projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Delivery

• • Lead large-scale and complex steel fabrication projects from contract award through completion
  • Review and interpret contracts, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
  • Develop and manage detailed project execution plans including detailing, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and erection sequencing
  • Maintain accountability for project schedules, budgets, and margins
  • Proactively identify risks, scope gaps, and cost exposures and implement mitigation strategies

Client & Stakeholder Management

• • Serve as the primary senior-level point of contact for owners, general contractors, construction managers, and design teams
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings, coordination meetings, and executive-level updates
  • Manage change order strategy, negotiations, and documentation
  • Build long-term client relationships that support repeat business

Fabrication & Detailing Oversight

• • Oversee shop drawing development, review cycles, and approval processes
  • Coordinate with detailing teams, shop management, and field operations to align production priorities
  • Ensure fabrication sequencing supports erection plans and site constraints

Financial & Contract Management

• • Track job costs, labor productivity, material procurement, and cash flow
  • Monitor performance against estimate and forecast final job outcomes
  • Review and submit billings, change orders, and job cost reports

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• • Champion Adena Structural’s safety culture and ensure compliance with all company and project-specific safety requirements
  • Ensure fabrication and erection meet AISC, AWS, and project quality standards
  • Coordinate quality control inspections, testing, and certifications as required

Leadership & Process Improvement

• • Mentor and support other Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers
  • Assist in developing standardized project management processes and best practices
  • Collaborate with estimating and operations leadership to improve project handoff and execution
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Adena Structural operations

Qualifications:

Required

• • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of experience managing structural steel fabrication projects
  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex, or multi-site steel projects
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Structural steel fabrication and erection
  • Shop drawings and detailing
  • AISC and AWS standards
  • Construction contracts and change management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and project management systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

• • Familiarity with ERP and fabrication tracking systems (e.g., Vista, Tekla, SDS/2, Bluebeam, CAD)
  • Multi-state or remote project management experience
  • OSHA training
