Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. The Machine Operator will be responsible for the operation of large machines, including tooling and dies, forming machines for screws and bolts, and screw, tapping, and drill machinery. The role involves performing part checks to ensure quality requirements are met using necessary gauges and visual inspections. Additionally, the Machine Operator will assist in pulling tools during set-up, record statistical process control data, perform wire-up activities, and complete maintenance inspection sheets.

Responsibilities

• Operate large machines including tooling and dies.
• Operate forming machines to make screws and bolts.
• Operate screw, tapping, and drill machinery.
• Perform part checks to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Assist in the process of pulling tools during set-up.
• Record statistical process control data into Plex.
• Perform wire-up activities.
• Complete maintenance inspection sheets as required.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Follow and understand written and verbal instructions.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and written instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Mechanical inclination and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read tape measure and use hand/power tools.
• Ability to stand on feet for 8+ hours a day.
• Ability to work 2nd and/or 3rd shift.
• Ability to train on 1st shift.

• Experience with drill press, mill, troubleshooting, machine set up, and braiding.
• Familiarity with mechanical, lathe, shear, and saw operation.
• Experience in machine set up, hand tools, press brake, tape measure, and screw machine operation.
• Proficiency with micrometer, calipers, blueprint schematics.
• Experience in fabrication machine shop, fabrication inspection, assembly inspection, CNC, and production.

Work Environment

The work environment is a large manufacturing facility that is not temperature-controlled, so it can be hot during the summer. Employees must wear steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs. The company is situated in a 280,000 square foot facility with modern manufacturing equipment. Training is provided on smaller machines through a program that can last from 1 to 4 months. The workforce includes over 100 production employees at the Medina, OH site.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Medina, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.40 - $18.50/hr.
