Salary: Union Scale or Over based on Experience

Scope of Position

The Vallejo Company is seeking an individual to join our team as a Class A CDL Operator for water utility installation projects across Ohio. The successful candidate will operate excavators, mini excavators, backhoes, etc. to install/repair/remove underground waterline.

Essential Functions

• Operate power equipment such as a excavators, backhoes and front-end loaders to excavator or move dirt, rock, sand, gravel, or other materials
• Knowledgeable with OUPS and utility line markings
• Daily inspection and basic maintenance as required
• Digs, spreads and levels dirt, gravel, or sand; and mixes, pours, and spreads concrete as needed
• Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment.
• Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
• Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

• Part of or willingness to join Local 18
• Has teamwork, communication, and strong listening skills
• Adaptable to changes and ability to problem-solve
• Experience in the respected department you are seeking to join
• Class A CDL Required
• Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath. Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects. Adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects.
• May be required to operate 40-hour machinery; if this is required for specific position providing additional information and proof of skills may be asked
• Ability to lift minimum 50-75lbs
