Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Mount Vernon, OH 43050 (Ohio respiratory therapist jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Care Practitioner Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel/Locum Tenens
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: August 11, 2025
• End Date: December 1, 2025
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (18:30 – 07:00)
• Total Hours: 36 per week
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Floating: Not required.

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Active NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials and Ohio state license
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RRT experience in a hospital or acute care setting
• Preferred: ACLS and PALS certifications
• Strong skills in adult critical care, emergency respiratory care, airway management, bronchoscopy assistance, ventilator management, BiPAP & CPAP therapy, ABG sampling and interpretation, and all respiratory care modalities
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting
• Perform airway and ventilator management, and assist with bronchoscopy procedures
• Manage BiPAP & CPAP therapy and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Provide emergency respiratory interventions as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital protocols
