Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Radiology

. This contract-based, on-site position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide essential diagnostic imaging services to patients while collaborating with a team of skilled healthcare professionals.
As a Locum Radiologist, you will play a critical role in interpreting medical images, providing accurate diagnoses, and supporting clinical decision-making across various departments. Your expertise will directly contribute to patient outcomes and the overall efficiency of our practice. This role operates within the Medical Practice industry, offering a dynamic environment where your skills are valued and your professional development is actively supported.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and report on X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and other diagnostic imaging studies
- Provide accurate and timely radiological diagnoses to support clinical decision-making
- Collaborate with referring physicians and specialists to discuss imaging findings and recommend appropriate follow-up
- Perform image-guided procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, and drain placements when required
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in radiology
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including radiology reports and documentation
- Consult with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and obtain informed consent when applicable
- Stay current with advancements in radiology technology, imaging techniques, and best practices
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to contribute clinical expertise
- Assist in quality assurance initiatives to ensure the accuracy and reliability of imaging services
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or board eligibility in Radiology
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
- Completion of an accredited residency program in Radiology
- Experience in diagnostic radiology, including proficiency in interpreting multiple imaging modalities
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and medical teams
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety
- Fellowship training in a radiology subspecialty is preferred but not required
Schedule: 4p-12a, 7 days per week
No call requirement
Daily Volume: 80+ RVUs
Modalities: CR, CT, MR, US, and NM
RPCE tech stack
Must be board-certified
