Position Overview Woolpert is hiring a Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Water Team . This position reports to the Water Design Team Leader and is responsible for being a project engineer supporting our amazing Water projects. Qualified candidates will be passionate in supporting water/wastewater, stormwater, and stream restoration projects. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located. What You Will Do- Be a staff engineer working with the technical team and under the supervision of a professional engineer to deliver well-executed projects to our clients.
- You will assist with plan production, perform and review design calculations, drive quality assurance, and support the internal and external project team on a variety of Stormwater/Wastewater/Water Design development engineering Projects.
- Project elements typically include drainage improvement/sanitary sewer (gravity and pressurized)/erosion control/stormwater management, and other documentation to support the client’s permitting and construction efforts. Work will vary from project to project, so our engineers are exposed to a number of different practices which allow them to not only become well rounded, but also to find a specialty they have interest in. This position will perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
- 8+ years of experience is preferred.
- PE Certification or ability to obtain.
- Ability and willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a team environment, across multiple teams and disciplines.
- Must possess strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must possess strong organizational skills to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities.
- Must be able to interface effectively with clients, and other internal Woolpert resources.
- Proven efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
- Experience in AutoCad Civil 3D is preferred.
- Experience in in GIS software is preferred.
- Proven experience with stormwater design is preferred.
- Must be able to make sound decisions/recommendations based on the evaluation and synthesis of project information and data.
- Must be physically and mentally capable of performing all essential duties, including field work, required of the position.
