Job Summary
AEP is looking for a creative communicator and storyteller to manage news content for the company intranet, maintain a comprehensive editorial calendar and develop content for a variety of channels, including podcasts, video and more.
What You'll Do:
AEP is seeking talented and motivated Communications Representative (Associate) to become an integral part of our communications services team. - Create high-quality, expert communications for employees.
- Assure that messages, materials and approach align with the AEP brand.
- Manage a comprehensive editorial calendar to ensure smooth execution and integrated planning.
- Identify ways to convey information so it is easy to understand and appealing - using a variety of communication tools to generate interest (written articles, infographics, videos, etc.)
- Edit and write external content as needed, including social media posts, web page content, stories, etc.
- Collaborate with other teams to create compelling digital content.

What We're Looking For: - Ability to simplify complex topics
- Passion for writing, editing and storytelling across multiple communication channels (intranet, video, email, podcasts, digital signs, posters, etc.)
- Capable of delivering well-crafted materials under deadline
- Energy, resourcefulness and self-motivation
- Demonstrated ability to write and produce content for multiple audiences/stakeholders
- Strong proofreading and editing skills with knowledge of AP Style
What You'll Get:
Communications Representative Associate (Grade 04) $52,488 - $65,610
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising, communications, public relations, or related degree.
Communication Representative (Grade 05) $61,647 - $77,057
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in, journalism, advertising, communications, public relations or equivalent. Demonstrated oral and written communications skills.
Work Experience Requirement: Two years' experience as a Communications Associate (internal) or five years of equivalent experience in a corporate/agency/nonprofit newspaper or broadcast news.
