Operations Clerk

Overview:

To complete data input as needed and cover terminal administrative office personnel and dispatcher positions.

This position is not on a standard shift. The successful candidate must be able to work flexible hours on a day-by-day basis.

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support for the terminal including receptionist and clerical tasks.
• Process terminal mail and shipments
• Process rail car data quickly and accurately immediately after rail car loading/unloading and enter data in rail road web based link
• Utilize the following software packages: Dossier, G2, Galahad, Lawson, Merlin Bulk, Microsoft Office products, and provide reports as requested
• Work in the scale house weighing trucks in/out of the terminal
• Complete scale related shipping bills and paperwork and input information into the computer
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Required Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of administrative office experience, including data entry and Microsoft Word
• Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
• Prior coursework and/or experience in data entry preferred.
• Proven ability to quickly learn new software programs.
• Able to efficiently complete data entry into multiple software programs, moving quickly from one program to another.
• Must be accountable, keep required work schedule, focus attention on details, and follow work and safety rules by adhering to Kinder Morgan's Core Principles, Policies, and SQE Culture.
• Ability to interpret directions and/or instructions both written and oral.
• Accept direction/supervision and have the ability to complete projects with minimal supervision.
• Work cooperatively with internal and external customers.

Working Conditions:

• Must be capable of sitting/standing for extended periods of time.
• Must be capable of occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30 lbs.
• Must have manual/mental dexterity to operate office equipment including, but not limited to, telephones, 2-way radios, calculators and computers.
