SUMMARY: A Centralized Parts Buyer at CollisionRight performs a crucial role in parts procurement to ensure a smooth, profitable, and efficient operation of our repair services. The primary responsibility will be to procure and source the necessary parts required for repairing damaged vehicles within multiple locations. The Centralized Parts Buyer will collaborate closely with General Managers and Estimators, and other team members to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of parts. This position is critical in maintaining our commitment to quality repairs and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, source and order automotive parts from CollisionRight preferred suppliers, ensuring timely availability and accurate ordering based on repair job requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with parts suppliers to negotiate pricing, availability, and delivery terms
  • Regularly assess supplier performance, reliability, and quality for CollisionRight to determine the most suitable partners while communicating all vendor concerns directly management.
  • Monitor and control parts costs, work to secure competitive pricing without compromising quality, and communicate any price fluctuations to manager.
  • Verify the quality and suitability of parts to meet DRP standards and customer expectations.
  • Work closely with Estimators to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow to understand the specific needs of each repair order.
  • Create purchase orders for all parts ordered and manage the procurement process from start to finish on all original and supplement orders.
  • Address any parts discrepancies, shipping delays, backorders, and any other parts related challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with CollisionRight parts procurement policies and DRP parts guidelines are followed on every repair.
  • Provide a weekly spreadsheet of all purchased parts earning additional gross profit percentage.
  • Attend weekly meetings with operations or procurement staff meetings as needed.
  • Back up other buyers when they are on PTO as requested by their manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a collision repair estimator and parts procurement
  • Knowledge of automotive parts and DRP collision repair processes
  • Advanced knowledge of CCCOne and Mitchell
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools (PartsTrader, CCCOne, OPSTrax)
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build vendor relationships
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality assurance
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record is necessary
