JOB TITLE: IND Packager DEPATMENT: Manufacturing
JOB SUMMARY: The IND Packager position is responsible for ensuring produced parts meet specifications and quality standards. This position blocks and packages batteries by wrapping and banding the product, to help support the quality and function of the product produced.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Is responsible for:
- Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions.
- Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel.
- Supporting implementation of corrective/preventative and improvement actions.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
- Proper housekeeping of the work area.
- Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures including the proper use of personal protective equipment where required.
- Required to:
- Have an Electric Power Jack Certification.
- Operate a framing nailer.
- Operate 3-ton hoist.
- Clean and package battery with all correct documentation.
- Follow Work Order for any proper vents, accessories.
- Quality checks on cells to ensure proper voltage and gravity before packaging.
- Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
ACCOUNTABILITY: This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Experience with safety and environmental training
- Minimum 1 year manufacturing/factory experience preferred in a fast-paced setting
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to use some hand tools
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving, prior battery assembly experience preferred
- Electric Power Jack Certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time. Bending, twisting, and turning. Full use of both hands to finger, handle, or fell objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk to hear. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds frequently and in excess of 140 pounds infrequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must follow OSHA guidelines on respirator fit testing and proper wear. Will wear goggles or face shield at all times while in department.
