Nursery Procurement Supervisor

Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and company goals.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate pricing with vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability while maintaining strong relationships, monitoring performance, and resolving supply chain issues proactively.
• Collaborate with operation director, production managers, field teams, and leadership
• Oversee purchase orders, inventory levels, and delivery schedules to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Assist with unloading and sorting plants.
• Ability to identify plants and understand care with understanding appropriate substitutions
• Ensure compliance with company policies, budget constraints, and industry regulations throughout the procurement process. Update plant material pricing in the company estimating software regularly to keep an accurate record of costs.
• Coordinate material deliveries to the shop while supporting nursery and inventory organization. Ability to assist with maintaining the health of the nursery plants as needed.

• Implement and manage procurement software or systems to track orders and inventory efficiently.
• Attend site and staff meetings assigned
• Participate in snow removal with plowing and maintain own snow route (on call during winter)

Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally in landscaping, construction, or a related industry.
• Advanced knowledge in plant identification and care for the Ohio region.
• Strong negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
• Proficiency in procurement software, industry software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Environment
This position requires the ability to work indoors and outdoors (work is performed in an indoor office setting and outdoor field environment) for several hours at a time and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally. Some local travel may be required. This position may be exposed to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions. Work may be required in or around water and may be near hazardous traffic conditions.

Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in an office and occasionally visit job sites, nurseries, and vendors.
• Ability to run equipment including skid steer, truck and trailer, dingo, snow plow, driving truck and trailer
• Availability of working full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional extended hours based on project needs.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs occasionally when handling materials.
• Walk and navigate on uneven surfaces
• Stand, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties
