As Senior Director, Surface Sciences Operations , you’ll champion strategic initiatives and lead critical projects across 12 manufacturing sites worldwide. You’ll be at the center of collaboration—partnering with HR, Finance, Procurement, and business leaders—to drive operational excellence. Your leadership will drive improvements in safety, production, quality, equipment efficiency, financial performance, and talent development across the Surface Materials business.

What You Will Do:

• Lead global operations performance improvement initiatives across 12 manufacturing sites.
• Manage relationships with corporate functions such as HR, Finance, and Procurement.
• Support and deliver business objectives in collaboration with business teams.
• Drive performance across key metrics including HSE, production, delivery, quality, equipment, finance, and people.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards including TRIR, process safety, and risk reduction.
• Oversee production schedule compliance and on-time delivery in partnership with supply chain.
• Improve product quality and reduce non-conforming material rates.
• Enhance equipment performance through preventive maintenance and effectiveness tracking.
• Manage operations and capital expenses within budget.
• Lead talent development, succession planning, and organizational growth

Skills That Make a Difference

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, chemistry, polymer, material, or relevant engineering field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of manufacturing leadership experience in the chemical or relevant industry.
• Solid experience managing multiple sites and leading cross-functional teams.
• Successful track record in manufacturing or engineering roles, progressing from production to plant and multi-site leadership.
• Experienced in driving team development and performance with a focus on employee engagement.
• Demonstrated success delivering results in a matrix organization.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated and proactive with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Cross-cultural and international experience preferred.
