Tool Maker/Manual Machinist

A manufacturing company is seeking a Tool Maker/Manual Machinist who will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines to produce high-quality precision components for tooling to make parts according to customer specifications. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Job Duties:**- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each machining operation
- Align and secure work pieces using clamps, vises, and other holding devices
- Perform machining operations, including turning, facing, boring, drilling, tapping, milling, surface grinding, and threading, with precision and adherence to quality standards
- Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators, to verify part accuracy.
- Make necessary adjustments and modifications to tooling to maintain quality and productivity
- Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues and related to stamping and fabricating tooling
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams improve product quality through better tool design
- Set up and operate CNC Machining Center and Wire EDM (as required, training available)
- Complete work orders, production reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have a High school diploma, GED, or technical school certificate
- Must have experience as a Manual Machinist in a fabricating job shop or similar environment
- Must be proficient in operating manual machining tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses
- Must have strong knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and cutting parameters
- Must have an excellent understanding of precision measuring instruments and inspection methods
- Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills while being able to resolve machining issues
- Must be able to pay a high attention to detail while producing accurate and high-quality work
- Must have good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects is needed
- Must be able to abide by all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
