CNC Machinist - 1st shift
Job Description
This role focuses on setting up, operating, and programming CNC mills and CNC lathes to produce precision components that meet exact specifications. You will read and interpret G and M codes, blueprints, and engineering documentation, make necessary machine adjustments and offsets, and ensure all parts are manufactured accurately and efficiently. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and environmentally conscious manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret G and M codes, blueprints, diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Program and edit CNC programs to ensure parts are produced accurately and run to print.
- Perform machine adjustments and offsets to maintain proper dimensions and quality throughout production runs.
- Use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to inspect parts and verify quality against specifications.
- Ensure all products are manufactured to required specifications and quality standards.
- Communicate product progress, issues, and recommendations directly with management to support production goals.
- Troubleshoot machine and process malfunctions and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Follow detailed instructions and blueprints throughout the creation process to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with established procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team efforts by safely accomplishing related tasks and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work in a results-oriented manner, meeting production schedules and quality targets.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience operating CNC mills and CNC lathes.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC mills and CNC lathes in a production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret G and M codes for CNC machining.
- Strong ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Experience making adjustments to machine programs, including offsets and minor edits, to ensure parts run to print.
- Hands-on experience using micrometers and calipers for precision quality inspection.
- Solid understanding of machining practices and techniques for metal components.
- Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for resolving machine and process malfunctions.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment in accordance with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Fanuc controls on CNC mills and CNC lathes.
- Strong blueprint reading capabilities for complex parts and assemblies.
- Comfort working with a variety of precision measuring tools beyond micrometers and calipers.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear updates on product progress and issues.
This is a Permanent position based out of Twinsburg, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
