Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring an Electrical Assembly Technician for our client. This role is responsible for assembling, wiring, and installing electrical components and systems in low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, and related electrical equipment.

What’s a Typical Day Like?

  • Perform point-to-point wiring of control and power circuits in electrical enclosures, switchgear, and control panels
  • Terminate wires, cables, and bus connections using appropriate lugs, ferrules, and connectors
  • Install electrical components such as relays, contactors, breakers, terminal blocks, meters, and control devices
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
  • Route, bundle, and secure wiring neatly and in accordance with applicable standards
  • Apply heat shrink tubing, wire markers, and cable identification labels
  • Verify wiring accuracy and continuity prior to testing
  • Assist with functional testing and final inspections as required
  • Maintain build quality, accuracy, and workmanship standards
  • Follow safety practices related to electrical assembly and manufacturing processes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Support other assembly or production tasks as needed

What Are the Requirements of the Job?

  • 2+ years of electrical wiring, panel building, or industrial electrical assembly
  • Ability to read and understand CAD models, blueprints, and wiring schematics
  • Familiarity with basic electrical components (relays, fuses, terminal blocks, breakers, contactors, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team on non-repetitive/custom builds
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work scheduled hours consistently
  • Experience with low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear, or electrical distribution equipment
  • Knowledge of industry standards (UL 891, UL 1558, IEEE, etc.)
  • Familiarity with acceptance testing of electrical equipment (Insulation resistance, contact resistance, hi-potential, etc.)
  • Electrical safety and industry best-practice awareness
  • Prior experience in a custom/engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
  • Reliable, punctual, accountable, and consistent
  • Detail-oriented with strong craftsmanship
  • Team player with good communication
  • Learns quickly and adapts to a custom-build environment
  • Hands-on shop floor electrical assembly role
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. as part of normal duties
  • Use of PPE when required (training provided)
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
  • Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
  • Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Communication skills.
