Job Summary
The Sweeping Operator & Route Lead is responsible for operating a commercial parking lot sweeper truck during night shifts. This position includes ensuring service quality, managing a designated route, and performing minor maintenance tasks on equipment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate commercial sweeping truck safely and efficiently.
• Follow pre-established route and adjust as needed to maximize productivity.
• Perform thorough sweeping of parking lots, curbs, dumpster areas, and entry zones.
• Use backpack blowers or portering equipment for hard-to-reach areas as required.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and complete documentation logs.
• Communicate site issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of vehicle and tools
• Support and train backup drivers when assigned.
Qualifications :
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL not required but preferred).
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Comfortable working independently and in all weather conditions.
• Previous experience in sweeping, grounds maintenance, or equipment operation is a plus.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, wet or humid conditions, working near moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.
- Occasionally exposed to vibration, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electric shock.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit, drive, and operate equipment for extended periods.
• Lift or move up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Frequent exposure to outdoor conditions including dust, debris, and varying temperatures.
