MS SQL DBA

Akkodis is seeking an MS SQL DBA for a Contract position with a client in Beachwood, OH . The ideal candidate must have strong hands‑on experience with SQL Server administration across versions 2016/2019/2022, performance tuning, HA/DR, and production support.

Rate Range: $49/hour to $53/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

MS SQL DBA job responsibilities include:

• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances in production environments.

• Monitor and tune database performance using execution plans, indexing, and resource analysis.

• Manage backups , restores , and HA/DR solutions including Always On and Failover Clustering.

• Ensure database security , user management, and compliance best practices.

• Troubleshoot SQL Server errors and provide root cause analysis (RCA).

• Support upgrades, migrations, data refreshes , and deployment activities.

• Collaborate effectively with application and infrastructure teams on production issues.

Desired Qualifications:

• Hands‑on experience with MS SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 installation, configuration, upgrades.

• Strong performance tuning , query optimization , and execution plan analysis.

• Expertise with Always On , Failover Clustering, Backup/Restore, and other HA/DR solutions.

• Proficiency in T‑SQL , stored procedures, functions, and complex queries.

• Experience with database security , access control, auditing, and compliance.

• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning in production SQL environments.

• Experience with Azure SQL or cloud SQL environments (preferred).

• Production support experience including incident management & RCA.

• Data migration , database refresh , and upgrade experience.

Good‑to‑Have Skills

• Oracle database administration & Oracle application certifications.

• Understanding of WebLogic, OAM, SSO, OID, GoldenGate .

• SQL Server DBA certifications.

• SQL/PLSQL development experience.

Pay Details: $49.00 to $53.00 per hour
