Shipping/Receiving Associate

We are seeking a reliable Shipping and Receiving Associate in Cincinnati, OH 45229 for a 3-month contract opportunity paying $18/hour , with potential for a temp-to-hire position . In this role, you will support first-shift warehouse operations by overseeing daily activities including receiving shipments, inventory management, order fulfillment, and supporting warehouse associates. The ideal candidate will have forklift and receiving experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead and support team members in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (First Shift)

Dress Code & PPE:

• Steel toe boots required
• Denim and T-shirt appropriate for warehouse environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee first-shift associates performing restocking, order fulfillment (picking and packing), cycle counts, and general warehouse tasks.
• Manage daily receiving activities including unloading, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments.
• Identify and resolve issues related to damaged goods, discrepancies, or missing items.
• Use internal computer systems to correct inventory discrepancies and reprint order slips as needed.
• Train, delegate tasks to, and support warehouse associates to ensure productivity and efficiency.
• Recommend performance improvements and work with Human Resources when necessary regarding employee performance.
• Perform warehouse functions including picking, packing, shipping, and receiving when needed to support the team.
• Operate and train staff on warehouse equipment such as RF scanners, wire cutting machines, and forklifts.
• Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager and Shipping Department to resolve operational issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and recommend solutions.
• Promote workplace safety by sharing safety tips and addressing unsafe practices.

Requirements:

• Forklift experience required
• Receiving experience required
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
