The Opportunity
This role offers a strategic leadership opportunity within Abbott Nutrition's Global Procurement team, responsible for managing over $250MM in production materials across 60+ suppliers. Based in Columbus, Ohio, the position focuses on ensuring supply continuity, driving cost efficiencies, and leading ingredient innovation in collaboration with commercial and R&D teams. The successful candidate will lead a small team and play a key role in shaping procurement strategies that directly impact Abbott's global operations and profitability.
What You'll Work On

Develop and execute global supply strategies using market and supplier data analysis

Ensure timely delivery of high-quality ingredients at or below market cost

Optimize raw material sourcing and procurement processes
-
Support manufacturing operations across North America, Europe, Asia, and TPMs
-
Standardize contracts across global commodities
-
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships worldwide
-
Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, QA, and other internal teams on supplier selection and management
-
Manage financial plans and purchasing commitments up to $250MM
-
Lead cost savings and avoidance initiatives across the division
-
Coach and mentor cross-functional teams to align with Abbott Nutrition's vision
-
Monitor and improve performance metrics such as PPV, supplier quality, inventory levels, and delivery performance
-
Assess market trends and risks to support strategic decision-making
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Business, Operations, Finance, or a technical field
-
4-6 years of combined experience in operations or supply chain management
-
Minimum 3 years of purchasing and/or sourcing experience
-
2-4 years of staff management and development experience
-
Strong skills in supplier negotiations, financial analysis, planning, and leadership
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Knowledge of regulatory standards for infant formula and nutritionals
Preferred Qualifications
-
MBA
-
Experience in purchasing, sourcing, or trading commodities
-
APICS certification
-
International experience or willingness to travel globally

The base pay for this position is $127,300.00 - $254,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
