Operations Supervisor I

Responsible for developing and managing daily production schedules in a chemical manufacturing facility while supporting safe, efficient, and on-time operations. Partners with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to balance customer demand, inventory, and equipment availability. Provides day-to-day leadership on the production floor, coordinates operators, resolves operational issues, promotes safety, and ensures production goals are achieved in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and an effective communicator who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
What you’ll do:
Production Scheduling & Plant Operations
- Manage production schedules to meet customer demand while balancing inventory, staffing, equipment availability, and plant capacity.
- Monitor production performance, adjust priorities as needed, and communicate updates across operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Support daily plant operations by leading shift communications, ensuring safe and compliant work practices, troubleshooting issues, coordinating maintenance, and driving achievement of production goals.
Production Floor Supervision
- Support daily plant operations by communicating production and safety priorities, ensuring compliance with SOPs, and promoting safe, efficient performance.
- Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams to address operational issues, troubleshoot equipment and process challenges, minimize downtime, and maintain adequate staffing coverage.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Promote a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing safety policies, supporting audits and investigations, ensuring regulatory compliance, resolving quality issues, and maintaining accurate production documentation.
Continuous Improvement & Team Development
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, scheduling efficiency, and operational performance while supporting employee training, development, and cross-functional collaboration.
What you’ll need:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 4 - 6 years of proven experience in operations
- Knowledge of chemical distribution facility operation preferred
- SAP or experience with similar ERP systems required
- Adept with Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, Excel, and Word
