Operations Manager -Landscape Maintenance

In this key leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of landscape maintenance field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Operations Manager is responsible for resource coordination, team leadership, and upholding company values in every aspect of the job. This is a year-round position that plays a critical role in both landscape maintenance and snow operations, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the success of the company and the satisfaction of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all landscape maintenance field operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Coordinate the procurement and scheduled use of labor, equipment, and materials for maximum efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and support field supervisors and crews, ensuring proper training and motivation.
- Conduct and require regular safety meetings, daily equipment and jobsite safety inspections, and ensure all employees use appropriate safety equipment and attire.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
- Manage weekly payroll duties, including timesheets, mileage, and equipment tracking.
- Support snow operations, including planning, area management during snow events, and ensuring contract quality standards are met, which may require work outside normal hours.
- Assist with project estimating and adjustments to maintenance and snow plowing routes for optimal service and profitability.
- Monitor labor costs and project budgets, directing crew leaders to make necessary adjustments.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required records and reports.
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews and quality checks on routine properties.
- Manage subcontractors involved in the landscape maintenance schedule.
- Address and resolve company-wide issues promptly, ensuring no issue remains unaddressed for more than 24 hours.
- Provide disciplinary action as needed and foster a positive, productive work environment.
- Identify opportunities for growth in the field and collaborate with account managers to support sales initiatives.
Qualifications
- Supervisory experience in the landscape maintenance industry.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of landscape industry practices and equipment.
- Experience with snow and ice management operations.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including frequently lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic reasoning and organizational skills to coordinate effective production.
- Demonstrated integrity in all business dealings.
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator license.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Year-round availability, including participation in snow operations as needed.
