LEAD TECHNICIAN
Reports To: Production Manager
Job Overview:Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, this position is responsible for operating bag machines and associated equipment in order to safely produce high-quality bags in accordance with the job safety analyses (JSA’s), production schedule, set-up instructions, operating procedures, and quality specifications, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand and follow all JSA’s and safety procedures/policies
- Setup and operate extrusion lines and support equipment producing high quality films and bags
- Read and verify line orders/dockets
- Understand printing job requirements by the specifications
- Mount plates, adjust pressures, tensions, and ink viscosity
- Troubleshoot stoppages and breakdowns
- Perform quality checks of material being produced and complete related documentation
- Complete daily production paperwork
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Set up other necessary auxiliary equipment
- Fundamental knowledge of resins and their properties
- Learn and comprehend all equipment so adjustments can be made if/when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Blown film experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen
- Punctual
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts
- Work overtime as required
- Satisfactorily complete training courses as determined by management
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with our without accommodation
Physical Requirements:
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Sitting (1-2 hours)
- Standing (Constantly – up to 12 hours)
- Walking up/down stairs (two flights, several times daily)
- Walking (Constantly up to 12 hours)
- Lifting/Carrying (Regularly/Constantly up to 12 hours – minimum of 50 lbs.)
