LEAD TECHNICIAN

Reports To: Production Manager

Job Overview:Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, this position is responsible for operating bag machines and associated equipment in order to safely produce high-quality bags in accordance with the job safety analyses (JSA’s), production schedule, set-up instructions, operating procedures, and quality specifications, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand and follow all JSA’s and safety procedures/policies
• Setup and operate extrusion lines and support equipment producing high quality films and bags
• Read and verify line orders/dockets
• Understand printing job requirements by the specifications
• Mount plates, adjust pressures, tensions, and ink viscosity
• Troubleshoot stoppages and breakdowns
• Perform quality checks of material being produced and complete related documentation
• Complete daily production paperwork
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Set up other necessary auxiliary equipment
• Fundamental knowledge of resins and their properties
• Learn and comprehend all equipment so adjustments can be made if/when needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Blown film experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen
• Punctual
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts
• Work overtime as required
• Satisfactorily complete training courses as determined by management
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with our without accommodation

Physical Requirements:
Requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Sitting (1-2 hours)
• Standing (Constantly – up to 12 hours)
• Walking up/down stairs (two flights, several times daily)
• Walking (Constantly up to 12 hours)
• Lifting/Carrying (Regularly/Constantly up to 12 hours – minimum of 50 lbs.)
