Senior EHS Specialist
We are looking for a Senior EHS Specialist to join our Care Chemicals (EM) team in Cincinnati, OH.

As a Senior EHS Specialist, you’ll support the Care Chemicals Americas EHS team by driving health and safety initiatives at our Cincinnati Site, reporting directly to the Director EHS for EM Americas. You’ll help implement programs that ensure compliance with both corporate and regulatory standards, while collaborating with EHS professionals across BASF’s North American operations.
Your primary focus will be occupational safety—identifying and mitigating operational hazards. You’ll also serve as a backup for environmental protection and process safety activities. Through risk analyses and design reviews, you’ll help ensure safe processes and reduce the risk ofaccidents, injuries, and illnesses.
You’ll continuously grow your technical expertise and that of your colleagues by offering expertguidance and developing targeted EHS training content.

- Ensuring compliance by applying technical and regulatory expertise to meet health and safety standards and continuously improving EHS programs.
- Reinforcing a safety culture by leading behavior-based safety program, supporting emergency response, and advising leadership on EHS strategies and opportunities.
- Implementing Responsible Care® systems by managing programs such as Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Fall Protection, Line Breaking, Excavation, Emergency Response, Powered Industrial Trucks, and Hazard Communication.
- Participating in investigating incidents and applying root cause analysis, project reviews, hazard analyses, and change management to prevent future risks.
- Leveraging analytical and digital skills to meet reporting requirements and improve data workflows in collaboration with operations.
- Delivering training and sharing expertise by creating and presenting health and safety content, facilitating knowledge exchange, and contributing to cross-functional EHS initiatives and task forces.
If you...
- Have education in Engineering, Science, EHS, or a related field
- Bring experience as an EHS Professional or in a related manufacturing role
- Preferrably hold certification(s) as a Safety Professional, Industrial Hygienist, or have demonstrated progress toward such certifications.
