Data Center Structured Cabling Lead (Infrastructure)
Job Description
Job Description
Step into a day leading mission-critical cabling work
Imagine starting your shift with a walkthrough of the white space, confirming cleanliness standards and safety protocols, then opening the day’s blueprint set and redlines. You brief a crew of 6–10 technicians, clarify milestones, assign tasks, and set expectations for quality and pace. By mid-morning, you’re supervising the installation and decommissioning of copper and fiber runs, validating labeling conventions, and checking that every pull follows best practices. After lunch, you splice fiber, verify terminations, and patch network equipment. You track progress against SLAs, remove roadblocks with stakeholders, and prep for a quality status walk with QA/QC. Before close, you review timesheets, capture lessons learned, and prepare a concise progress update for project stakeholders.
