Associate/ Youth Pastor

First Baptist Church (FBC) of Elkton, Maryland, is seeking a man called by God to serve in the capacity of “Associate/Youth Pastor.” First Baptist Church is located in Cecil County, Maryland, just a few miles from the state line of Delaware and Pennsylvania. The University of Delaware is about 10 miles from the church. The church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware.

Qualifications of the Associate/Youth Pastor

Be called by God and meet the qualifications listed in I Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1:7-9.
Have a love and passion for God and Biblical wisdom with a desire to serve in the Kingdom of God.
Have a love for students and all the family of God.
Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies or Youth Ministry (preferred but not required).
Have a working knowledge of Sunday School, Small Groups, and Youth.
Have experience with multiple forms of outreach (preferred but not required).
Able to preach (preferred but not required).
Have communication skills, both verbal and written.
Gifted with organization and leadership ability.
Requirements of the Associate/Youth Pastor

Work with the Senior Pastor and leadership in organizing and executing God’s vision for His church.
Attend and participate in all services.
Oversee, grow, and coordinate the church’s youth ministry.
Lead middle and high school students to encourage their spiritual growth.
Partner with local schools and FCA for ministry.
Attend Summer Camp with Youth.
Develop positive relationships with students and their parents.
Display a Christ-like approach and lifestyle, and pray regularly for young people in the church and community.
Incorporate youth into various church ministries for His use.
Disciple students who are interested in the knowledge of God and His Word.
Work with leadership to develop the Church outreach and evangelism ministry.
Uphold the core values and Constitution of FBC, agree with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
