Compensation: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Field Operations) + Flexible Weekend Hours (Estimates/Quotes)

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled, business-minded Hardscape Foreman & Estimator to take ownership of our hardscape division, ensure project profitability, and lead field operations.

Position Overview

Are you an experienced hardscape professional who knows how to build a flawless patio, but also understands the numbers behind it? We need a rare breed: a master of the craft who is equally sharp when it comes to pricing job materials, labor hours, and margins.

In this role, you will lead hardscape installations from start to finish, working hands-on in the field alongside a dedicated helper. Crucially, you will also take over our quoting and estimating process to ensure our projects are priced accurately, competitively, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations & Leadership (Monday – Friday)

• Hands-on Execution: Act as the lead installer, physically executing high-end hardscape projects (patios, retaining walls, walkways, fire pits, outdoor living areas) alongside a helper.
• Project Management: Oversee the job site from excavation to final clean-up, ensuring work meets Clayton’s strict standards for quality and structural integrity.
• Logistics & Material Management: Coordinate daily material deliveries, equipment rentals, and tool readiness to maximize on-site efficiency.

Estimating & Client Consultation (Saturday or Sunday - Flexible)

• Accurate Job Costing: Conduct on-site measurements and evaluations for prospective residential clients over the weekend.
• Profitable Quoting: Formulate precise, detailed quotes that account for exact material quantities, realistic labor hours, and overhead to protect company margins.
• Client Relations: Serve as the professional face of Clayton’s Residential Services during consultations, answering technical questions and building trust with homeowners.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven Hardscape Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience running and installing residential hardscape projects. Expert knowledge of base preparation, grading, pitch, and proper laying techniques is a must.
• Estimating Expertise: Demonstrated experience quoting hardscape jobs. You must understand how to calculate square footage, linear footage, tons of aggregate, and labor efficiency so projects don't lose money.
• Strong Work Ethic: Willingness to lead by example, do the heavy lifting, and maintain high energy throughout the workweek.
• Communication & Tech Savvy: Ability to communicate clearly with the business owner and clients. Comfortable using (or learning) basic estimation/invoicing software or digital quoting tools.
• Reliability: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to job sites in the Worthington/Greater Columbus area.
