Receptionist
Overview
The Stark County Public Defender Office is seeking a full-time receptionist. You will serve as the first point of contact for clients and callers, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
Duties
- Greet clients and other visitors politely and professionally
- Manage a multi-line phone system, answer inquiries courteously, and transfer calls
- Schedule initial interview appointments for potential clients
- Open clients' case files by entering the proper data in our office's case management system
- Enter notices of court hearings in our office's case management system
- Sort and deliver office mail
- Patiently and effectively communicate with individuals charged with criminal offenses, individuals with mental health needs, as well as judges and other professionals
- Perform other clerical duties as necessary
Qualifications
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems and excellent phone etiquette skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient typing skills
- Previous experience in the legal field is advantageous, but not required

All employees participate in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS); there is also the opportunity to participate in the Ohio Deferred Compensation Program (457 plan) in accordance with Internal Revenue Code Section 457. Paid vacation (after one year) and sick leave are available.
