Director of Strategic Projects

Full Time - Remote/Hybrid (will need to be on site for meetings, designated days)

Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Director of Strategic Projects in Columbus, Ohio.

What will I do as the Director of Strategic Projects with Lutheran Social Services?

Project Management :

• Lead the organizing, planning, execution, and monitoring of cross-functional projects across the organization and externally, if applicable.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans.
• Prepare and present regular status reports for senior leadership and stakeholders

Executive Team Support :

• Partner with the CEO, COO and executive team to plan, coordinate, and execute high-priority strategic initiatives.
• Prepare presentations, summaries, and reports for Board meetings and leadership updates.
• Provide project support for special initiatives assigned by executive leadership.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments and teams.
• Works with Executive team to set calendar for annual Internal communication meetings and other strategic organizational meetings.
• Serve as a point of contact for project-related questions and support.
• Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

Process Improvement :

• Support the optimization of business operations processes and systems.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and implement best practices for efficiency and accountability.
• Develop and maintain project management tools, templates, and standards.
• Assist with operational planning, data tracking, and reporting to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Team & Stakeholder Engagement :

• Provides work direction and supervision, including hiring, coaching, performance management, disciplining, training, etc to Office Administrator.

Research and Analysis

• Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and community needs relevant to the organization's housing, human services, and healthcare programs
• Prepare reports and recommendations based on research findings to support the executive team and Board.
• Support grant proposals and funding requests with research and data as needed.

Requirements for the Director of Strategic Projects with Lutheran Social Services:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Project Management, or related field (Master's degree a plus).

• PMP or other relevant project management certification a plus.

• 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.

• Valid Ohio driver's license, access to reliable insured transportation and ability to meet LSS insurance standards required
