Description:

The primary focus of the Business Developer is to build and sustain partnerships with external employers to ensure that scholars have access to internships and apprenticeship programs. This role is pivotal in facilitating internship placements, job placements, and seeking apprenticeship opportunities aligned with scholars' post-secondary plans. The Business Developer will work closely with the AMP Program Manager and Director of Workforce and Education to foster and maintain these partnerships, ensuring that scholars meet the expectations of their placement programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnership Development
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with external employers and industry partners to create internship and apprenticeship opportunities for scholars.
  • Engage with local businesses, industry associations, and community organizations to promote internships and apprenticeship programs.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements and ensure mutual benefits for both the organization and the partners.
  • Internship and Apprenticeship Placement
  • Coordinate and manage the placement of scholars in various internship and apprenticeship programs.
  • Work with the AMP Program Manager and CTE Advisor to match scholars' skills and interests with appropriate opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a database of internship and apprenticeship opportunities and placements.
  • Program Management
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of scholars in their respective internship and apprenticeship programs.
  • Ensure that scholars meet the performance and conduct expectations of the employers.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to scholars throughout their placements.
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Collaborate with the AMP Program Manager to develop and implement strategies for building and maintaining partnerships.
  • Communicate regularly with employers to address any issues and gather feedback on scholars' performance.
  • Organize and attend meetings, workshops, and events to promote internship and apprenticeship programs.
Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, partnership management, or a related role.
  • Experience working in educational settings or with youth programs is a plus.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
