Key Responsibilities Independence is seeking a Manager to fill an opening on our US Business Relationships Evaluation (“BRIDGE”) Team. The BRIDGE team is responsible for evaluating proposed business relationships and maintaining EY’s independence from our audit clients and their affiliates. Our team is comprised of experienced and knowledgeable professionals who interpret policies, analyze business relationship issues, determine required actions, and make recommendations based on firm guidance to help meet the demands of our Service Lines and internal functions while maintaining our independence and complying with the rules of our regulators. Managers are also responsible for reviewing BRIDGE records and external content produced by the firm from an independence perspective, and documenting conclusions on permissibility. Our team members regularly utilize and have opportunities for the continued enhancement of their decision-making, communication, analytical and technical skills. Skills And Attributes For Success- Uses knowledge gained from in-depth client service or infrastructure experience, to resolve Independence policy and procedure issues, violations and concerns
- Manages client relationships so that expectations are met or exceeded by advising what to expect and by when, and through listening and responding to client needs
- Understands key requirements of regulators’ independence rules and firm policies and is knowledgeable about Risk Management areas outside of independence
- Identifies emerging risks and proposes solutions to address these
- Strong project management skills to successfully handle multiple projects and initiatives concurrently
- Ability to think strategically and handle complex concepts
- Adept at solving problems across multiple service lines, industry sectors and geographic Areas
- Proficient at driving and adapting to change
- Competent at delivering tough messages to executive leaders within the firm
- English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong listening and interpretation skills
- Strong computer skills with understanding of various types of software and their use, and working knowledge of AI concepts and practices
- 7 plus years related experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- The ability to exercise significant levels of independent judgment and discretion when analyzing complex issues and risk across industry and service lines
- A valid CPA License with firm Audit Experience
- The ability to use your knowledge and experience and refer to the firm's Independence and related policies and regulations, to identify appropriate opportunities and solutions
- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $96,300 to $180,100. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $115,600 to $204,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
