Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and patching up holes.
• Apply paint, varnishes, and sealants using brushes, rollers, and sprayers with professional skill and attention.
• Interpret and adhere to all job specifications and blueprints to ensure consistency and quality in painting tasks.
• Ensure workspace cleanup post-completion of tasks and maintain a tidy working environment throughout the project duration.
• Select and utilize a variety of tools and equipment to paint surfaces within both residential and commercial settings.
• Communicate effectively with project managers and team members to report on progress and quality of work.
• Regularly inspect equipment and tools, performing basic maintenance to keep them in optimal condition.
• Fulfill all safety guidelines and practices to prevent incidents and maintain a safe work environment.
• Mix paints and other solutions, matching and customizing colors as per the client’s or project requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels of supplies and request new stock in a timely manner to prevent disruptions in work flow.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as a commercial/industrial painter, with a portfolio showcasing previous work.
• Thorough knowledge of different paints and chemicals, including their appropriate usage and safety procedures.
• Proficiency in using tools and machinery required for painting commercial and residential buildings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment and stand for extended periods during work hours.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear interaction with clients and team members.
• High school diploma or equivalent; professional certifications in painting or related fields preferred.
• Willingness to adhere to all health and safety laws and regulations.
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to access different job sites in and around Columbus, OH.
