Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 – Top destination for Ohio healthcare jobs
• Facility Setting: General Medicine, Med/Surg Telemetry Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Travel nursing contract)
• Start Date: October 20, 2025
• End Date: January 19, 2026
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (07:00 - 19:30)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1940-$1990
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Unit: 11 West Doan Hall General Medicine

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license or compact state nursing license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) and IV certification required
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Strong clinical skills in communication, critical thinking, and multitasking
• Previous travel nursing experience is a plus
• Ability to provide two professional references (one from a manager/director or charge RN)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions considered)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Initiate and manage IVs for adult and geriatric patients
• Administer medications safely and accurately
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient responses
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and self-care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Document all care in EPIC EMR system
• Float to lower acuity units as needed within the hospital
• Adhere to hospital policies and maintain patient safety standards
• Perform Med/Surg nursing procedures (Foley catheter insertion, PICC line care, IV antibiotics, chest tubes, paracentesis, etc.)
