Position Overview
The Sheet Metal Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, fabrication, assembly, and repair of sheet metal duct systems for commercial and industrial HVAC projects. This role requires strong technical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and fabricate sheet metal ductwork according to specifications and blueprints
- Measure, cut, and shape sheet metal materials using hand and power tools
- Install hangers, supports, and insulation on duct systems
- Work with copper, galvanized steel, aluminum, and other metals as needed
- Operate shears, brakes, presses, and other fabrication equipment
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and adheres to safety regulations
- Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and other trades on‑site
- Troubleshoot and repair existing duct systems when required
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a sheet metal mechanic or duct installer (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC duct systems and sheet metal fabrication techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
- Familiarity with industry tools, machines, and equipment
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials up to 50 lbs
- Reliable transportation and ability to work at various job sites
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
