Qc supervisor

As a Quality Control Supervisor , you will contribute to the PPG's quality goals by supervising a team of QC Technicians who are responsible for the testing, reducing, adding materials, color matching, color shading, applying, and otherwise preparing laboratory quantities of production intermediates and finished goods, both in wet form and as a dried film. You will mentor, train, and lead a team of technicians, asses work, provide guidance and leadership, and assist in the day to day testing.

Responsibilities:

• Build a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities.

• Mentor and provide team leadership and guidance in day to day operations.

• Resolve quality problems by analyzing impediments and organizing work to improve use of personnel and material resources.

• Help to maintain the safety program to minimize accidents and injuries and to ensure a safe working environment.

• Support problem resolution with cross-functional teams, including the Quality department, Engineers, and others.

• Use expertise with quality control, formulation and understanding of how application can affect color and appearance to troubleshoot and correct batches.

• Assist in pre-ship samples for customers.

• Maintain 5S practices throughout the entire lab.

• Maintain safety practices and wear all appropriate PPE.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in engineering, business, or similar; OR equivalent combination of experience, training, skills and a High School diploma.

• 3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Previous experience in quality control at a lead or senior level.

• Experience with color matching, paints/coatings, shaders, or similar.

• Proficient in basic data entry and reporting with Excel.
