Summary of Essential Job Functions

Responsible for completing preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.

Responsible for responding to maintenance calls to make necessary repairs on

equipment and/or any task at hand as needed. Responsible for rebuilding / fabrication

of parts and/or equipment as needed. Responsible for maintaining good safety

practices. Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in maintenance shop and

their work area throughout the plant. Responsible for maintaining facilities and grounds as needed.

Specific Responsibilities Relating to Food Safety, Legality and Quality

• Maintain equipment to perform at manufactures standards.
• Conducts daily pre-start-up procedures to ensure equipment is ready for production.
• Properly reads, comprehends and completes required forms.
• Conducts post repair evaluations to ensure equipment is ready for production.
• Properly uses chemicals / lubrications as specified on manufacturers label.
• Reports and takes necessary action to prevent food safety, legality and quality problems from occurring.
• Follows and enforces programs and procedures outlined in the Food Safety and Quality Manual to support compliance with GFSI Global Standard for Food Safety and other third-party audits.

Abilities Required

• Able to troubleshoot, recognize, and repair mechanical / electrical problems.
• Able to operate hand and power tools.
• Able to operate machining and welding equipment.
• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Able to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Able to communicate and work effectively with all employees.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions in a timely manner.
• Able to be forklift certified.
• Pass a background check and drug screen.
